Getting started: your first merged calendar view

What you will set up
This tutorial covers your first session: installing the extension, adding two calendars, and reading the merged view. It takes about five minutes. You do not need an account, admin rights, or IT approval. Everything you add stays in your browser. Your calendars are read and merged on your device, not in our cloud.
Step 1: Install the extension
- Open your browser's extension store: Chrome Web Store, Firefox Add-ons, or Edge Add-ons.
- Search for manyCalendars and click Add to Chrome (or the equivalent button).
- Confirm the permissions prompt.
That is the whole install. The Free plan has no signup step, so there is no account to create before you start.
Step 2: Open the app
After install, a new tab opens with your empty calendar view. If it does not, click the manyCalendars icon in your toolbar. In Chrome and Edge, click the puzzle-piece menu and pin the icon so it stays one click away.
Step 3: Add your first calendar
- Click Add calendar in the sidebar.
- Choose ICS URL if your provider gives you a feed link. Paste the URL and click Add. Google and Outlook both offer these; the Help Center has provider-specific steps for finding yours.
- Or choose ICS file if you have an exported .ics file. Pick the file and its events import in place.
- Give the calendar a name and a color, then save.
Events appear on the grid within a few seconds. The feed is fetched directly by your browser, so the data does not pass through our servers.
Step 4: Add your second calendar
Repeat step 3 with your other calendar. The Free plan lets you add unlimited calendars this way, so keep going for every ICS feed or file you have: many schedules, one grid, conflicts made visible. Your first 14 days also run as a full Pro trial, so you can try Tab Sync and the pro tools right away. After the trial, Pro adds Tab Sync for the calendars IT will not let you export.
Step 5: Read the merged view
The main grid now shows every event from both calendars, color-coded by source. If two events overlap, the conflict is highlighted so you spot the double booking before your clients do.
Use the view switcher at the top to move between month, week, and day views. Month is best for spotting busy stretches, week for planning, day for running back-to-back meetings.
The mini calendar and the calendar list
The sidebar holds two controls worth learning early.
The mini calendar is the small month grid at the top. Click any date to jump the main view to that day. Use its arrows to skim ahead through future months without losing your current view setting.
The calendar list sits below it, one row per calendar with its color. Click a calendar's name to hide or show it in the merged view. Hiding a calendar deletes nothing; it just filters the grid. Useful when you need to focus on one client's schedule for a moment.
