Improved Outlook sync engine accuracy
The Outlook web app recently updated its DOM structure for recurring events. Our sync engine was missing some expanded instances of recurring series, particularly those with exceptions (modified single occurrences). This is fixed. Recurring events with modifications now appear correctly in your unified view, with the correct time and title for each instance.
Faster initial load
We cut initial load time by roughly 40% for users with 4+ calendars connected. The improvement comes from parallelizing the initial sync across tabs instead of processing them sequentially. If you previously noticed a few seconds of delay when opening the app for the first time each day, it should feel noticeably snappier now.
Timezone auto-detection in availability export
When you export your availability as plain text (for pasting into Slack or email), manyCalendars now automatically detects the recipient's likely timezone based on your recent conversation context and includes both your local time and their local time in the output. No more mental math when coordinating with a client three timezones away. You can override the detected timezone manually if needed.
Fixed rare conflict detection edge case
We identified and fixed an edge case where all-day events spanning multiple days were not being checked for conflicts against timed events on the second and subsequent days of the span. For example, a two-day offsite marked as an all-day event on Monday and Tuesday was only flagging conflicts with Monday meetings, missing Tuesday meetings entirely. This is now resolved. All-day multi-day events check against timed events on every day they span.
What is next
We are working on a couple of features that have been heavily requested: calendar event search across all connected calendars, and an improved conflict resolution flow that suggests available alternatives when a conflict is detected. More on those soon.
